Just like we couldn’t let the Kiwis win the Cricket World Cup, our ski resorts weren’t content with allowing their southern cousins to have it their own way either.

Up to  30cm has fallen in the high alpine areas of NSW, Perisher and Thredbo both boasting about the magic “one-footer” this morning.

Temperatures were still hovering around that mark at Thredbo top station at 9am according to the BOM.

Mt Buller reported 8cm of snow while Falls Creek and Mt Hotham

The snow has eased off but cold weather will persist over the next few days, allowing for good snowmaking conditions.

It all paves the way for a snowy start to the official start of the ski season on Saturday.
