Description
Every time I hear Bad Bunny’s “CAFé CON RON,” I’m transported back to my very first SanSe two years ago—dancing in Old San Juan with Bomba, salsa, and reggaeton vibrating down every street.
But what is SanSe? It’s the unofficial closing to the longest holiday season in the world. For days, the streets of Old San Juan are filled with live music, bomba performances, local businesses, and so much more!
The best part is that it’s a FREE event to attend 🙌🏾. If you’re going this weekend, here are my go-to tips:
🚌 There are free guaguas (buses) that take you into Old San Juan, but be prepared to wait in line for about two hours. If you’re in a hurry, there’s usually a line of shared taxis next to the bus stops—quicker, but it’ll cost you
💃🏾 Immerse yourself duhh. Join the Bomba performances, savor local eats, and dance like a boricua
🏝️ Stay hydrated & wear sunscreen! Caribbean heat is real. Make sure to drink lots of water & to eat as well. I almost passed out because I forgot to do both 🤦🏾♀️
🎶 If you love salsa, do not miss La India perform. She still sounds just like her songs from over 20 years ago 😭
