'Ag Déanamh Ceoil' ('Making Music') was the name of a series of programmes broadcast on RTÉ Television in the 1960s and 70s. That was before the advent of domestic video recorders and this is my own slideshow presentation of one of only three episodes which have survived. Each of these include songs from singers in Irish and English; jigs, reels, hornpipes and airs from solo musicians and groups; step dances, set dances, and céilí dances from exhibition and social dancers. This is the sound track of one such programme first broadcast on the 15th of April 1973 which I have in my iTunes. The presenter is the great accordion player, Tony MacMahon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_MacMahon), who was born in Ennis, County Clare in 1939. This recording is introduced by Nicholas Carolan, Director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive (http://www.itma.ie/) in Dublin.
