There was a time when Peking Opera had its stars, actors or actresses who were masters of their roles but who also embodied the zeitgeist of their age, for instance the late Mei Lanfang who became synonomous with the role of nandan. Thanks to a rekindled interest in traditional arts, another wave of Peking Opera stars are carrying on and reinventing the spirit of Peking Opera. Amongst them is Wang Peiyu whose interpretation of the classic titled "Sacrifice" has been turned into a documentary for international release. Take a look!
